Jeff brings a unique background and years of IP experience to the firm. Jeff currently concentrates his practice in patent drafting and prosecution. Jeff is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Carolina Patent, Trademark and Copyright Law Association.

Jeff brings a unique background and combination of experience to the firm, concentrating his practice in patent drafting and prosecution. Prior to joining the firm, Jeff was an associate attorney at Hammer & Associates, P.C., an IP boutique firm in Charlotte, NC. Jeff’s industry experience includes work as a Mechanical Engineer specializing in the development of parts and components of broadband systems with Pliant Systems, Inc. in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. Prior to working with Pliant Systems, Inc., Jeff worked with Square D in Knightdale, NC as a manufacturing engineer for the production of industrial sized electrical parts.


Jeff’s patent prosecution experiences includes automotive parts and accessories, hydraulics, shocks, motorcycles, hand tools, medical devices, textiles, non-wovens, diapers, hollow fiber contactors, building materials, water purification, flame resistant textiles, microporous membranes, batteries, communication, informatics, and business methods, among others. Jeff also has experience in the preparation and prosecution of trademark applications, patent and trademark litigation, patentability/infringement/ clearance opinions, license agreements, and management of in-house monthly IP budgets and dockets.


Jeff is licensed to practice in North Carolina and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Jeff is also registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.


Jeff is a member of the State Bar of North Carolina, the Mecklenburg County Bar Association, and the Carolina Patent, Trademark and Copyright Law Association.
